Badger Flat Campground and group campground is located along Kaiser Pass Road above Huntington Lake. There is trailhead access for the Kaiser Wilderness area.

Located at the confluence of Snow Corral and Deer Creeks along the McKinley Grove Road, Buck Meadow Campground lies on a large flat sandy area adjacent to Deer Creek.

Catavee Campground is located on Huntington Lake near the Kaiser Wilderness. This campground offers convenient access to all the activities and events available around Huntington Lake, including the annual sailboat regatta. The campground is forested and provides good privacy at several of the sites. A few sites overlook Bear Creek, while others offer lake views.

College Campground is located on Huntington Lake near the Kaiser Wilderness. The camp features tent-only sites in open, meadow-like spaces or wooded sites among pine and fir trees. Visitors can have the option of mooring their boats nearby some of the sites.

Most of Kaiser Ridge is 10,320 feet high and Kaiser Peak provides a commanding view of the central Sierra Nevada. Deer Creek Campground is located in California Sierra National Forest. The campground is tucked under dense fir and pines along the shore of Huntington Lake and offers scenic lake views, especially during the annual sailboat regatta. Boats can be moored near some of the camp sites. There are two loops to this campground: one is more heavily forested with more sites along the lake, and the other has more open and sunny sites with closer access to the resort community of Lakeshore. All sites have a view of Huntington Lake.

Dinkey Creek is spread out along the banks of its namesake creek in a thick forest of Ponderosa pines and cedars. The facility's high country setting with trees, streams and open space, make it a scenic destination for all types of visitors.

Dinkey Creek has 2 swimming areas: The Slicks and Honeymoon Pool, both of which contain pools carved out of granite. Anglers can fish Dinkey Creek for brown and rainbow trout. Hikers can walk the Dinkey Creek Trail. Mountain bikers also have trail access in this area.

Dorabelle Campground is a popular family camping destination above Shaver Lake. Some sites are shaded by a thick stand of fir, cedar and pine trees, while other sites are more open. This camp is a great base for experiencing the wide variety of recreational activities in the area. Boats can be moored nearby and some sites offer views of the lake.

Hikers can access 5 trails from the campground: Dinkey Road (.5 miles), Musick Meadow (.75 miles), Peninsula Loop (1 mile), Burr Meadow (1.5 miles) and Osprey Cove (2 miles). Horseback riding is also offered nearby. Popular activities at Shaver Lake include swimming, motorized boating, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, jet skiing, windsurfing, sailing and fishing. Anglers can fish for kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass, catfish and bluegill.

Surrounded by dense pine forest, Shaver Lake is a popular destination within the High Sierra Ranger District. It sits at an elevation of 5,500 feet and is known for its variety of fish. Fish Creek Campground is a small, primitive camp offering standard and tent-only sites located along Fish Creek. The campground is surrounded by mountains and tucked into a shady spot beneath oaks and pines.

Nearby Mammoth Pool Reservoir offers a variety of recreational activities, including fishing, boating, hiking and wildlife viewing.

Florence Lake is a beautiful high sierra lake providing wonderful opportunities for camping, hiking, picnicking, boating, fishing, and horseback riding. Florence Lake also serves as a starting point for wilderness hikers traveling to the John Muir Wilderness and Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park.

Located half a mile from the McKinley Grove of Giant Sequoias, Gigantea Camground offers slightly more rustic camping. The area has some slopes and flat areas. Cedar, fir and sugar pine trees offer excellent shade for campsites.

The Huntington Boat Launching facility offers paved boating access, parking, and day use at Huntington Lake. A small beach and picnic area make this a great place for swimming and relaxing under the sun. Vault toilets are available.

Jackass Meadow Campground is situated below Florence Lake on the San Joaquin River, surrounded by the craggy peaks of the John Muir Wilderness. Jackass Meadow is shaded by a stand of Aspen and Lodgepole Pine, and the South Fork of the San Joaquin runs through the campground. This camp is located near several Native American archaeological sites.

There is a .7 mile accessible hiking trail near the campground. Nature walks are held every Saturday during the summer. Most of the recreation opportunities here can be found in and around Florence Lake. There is a boat ramp and boat rentals at the Florence Lake Store.

Mono Creek Campground is located in the High Sierras above Kaiser Pass. This quiet, remote campground is situated in a peaceful meadow near Mono Hot Springs at an elevation of 7,500 feet.

Most recreational activities are centered around nearby Edison Lake and Mono Hot Springs. Interpretive programs, hiking, trout fishing, boating and horseback riding are popular pastimes. Hot mineral baths can be enjoyed at Mono Hot Springs.

Mono Hot Springs Campground sits above Kaiser Pass in the High Sierra, on the South Fork of the San Joaquin River in an area known for its hot mineral baths. The camp is divided into two sections that are separated by Mono Hot Springs Resort, and some sites are shaded by aspen and lodgepole pine. The campground sits at an elevation of 6,700 feet with many cliffs in the area. It makes a great base for exploring the nearby Ansel Adams and John Muir Wilderness areas or for simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

The Mono Hot Springs area provides opportunities for fishing, birding, mountain biking, hiking and relaxing in the hot springs. Interpretive programs are offered at the campground on Friday nights during the summer. Wading is permitted in the San Joaquin River, which is known for its excellent fly fishing. Trailheads in the area include Devil's Table (5 miles) and Doris Lake (2 miles). The Mono Creek Trail connects Mono Hot Springs to Edison Lake, a hike of about 10 miles round-trip.

Portal Forebay Campground is located along Kaiser Pass Road at Portal Forebay Lake.

Portal Forebay is a small 20 acre lake that was completed in 1956 as a part of the Big Creek Hydroelectric Project which produces electricity for Southern California. The lake is located midway between Florence and Huntington Lakes at an elevation of 7,180 feet. The lake serves as a holding forebay for the Portal Power House which is located at Huntington Lake.

Rancheria Campground is located on the shores of Huntington Lake near the Kaiser Wilderness. The campsites sit under a dense canopy of fir and pine, and some tent-only sites are right on the shore and allow for informal mooring of boats. The campground's location makes it possible to discover all the activities and attractions at Huntington Lake, and it's an excellent base for further exploration of the Kaiser Wilderness.

Shaded by dense pine trees, Swanson Campground is located near the town of Shaver Lake. Paved and dirt roads provide access to the campground. Visitors can experience a wide variety of recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and hiking at nearby Shaver Lake.

The Trails End trail is a perfect place to spend a day and picnic. Shaded areas to relax and backpack along the creek. Day hiking is a great activity in the Sierra National Forest. If you are planning to travel in the forest during the day with a big group, a group is limited to 15 people and 25 head of stock. Please remember to always pack out what you pack into any wilderness area.

Vermillion Campground is located on the northwest shore of Edison Lake, in a shady stand of Ponderosa pine. Most sites provide lake views. The campground is ideal for tents, as well as small RVs. Visitors can enjoy mountain views of the surrounding John Muir and Ansel Adams Wilderness areas.

Edison Lake has a free public boat launch. Canoeing and kayaking near the shoreline are popular activities. Anglers can fish for rainbow, brown or brook trout. Sandy beaches within the campground provide lake access for swimming. Campfire programs are offered throughout the summer. Numerous hiking and equestrian trails are in the area.
